There is snow on the ground. Several groups of people are sitting in wooden sleds. Nicholas de Grandmaison is sitting in the front sled. Five First Nations individuals are visible in the sleigh with him. One is wearing a feather headdress, one is a small child, two are wrapped in scarves and blankets and one is not facing the camera. There is another sled close behind carrying at least nine people, two of whom are wearing feather headdresses. A sled in the far background has several riders and is hooked up to the horses. The front sleighs are parked in front of a small house and there are other small houses and trees in the distance. Title supplied by cataloguer.
