Summary:Black-and-white photograph of a Nicholas de Grandmaison visit with the Cree Indians in the File Hills of Saskatchewan during a winter celebration. There is snow on the ground. Several groups of people are sitting in wooden sleds. Nicholas de Grandmaison is sitting in the front sled. Five First Nations individuals are visible in the sleigh with him. One is wearing a feather headdress, one is a small child, two are wrapped in scarves and blankets and one is not facing the camera. There is another sled close behind carrying at least nine people, two of whom are wearing feather headdresses. A sled in the far background has several riders and is hooked up to the horses.
