Summary:Black-and-white photograph taken during a Nicholas de Grandmaison visit with the Cree Indians in the File Hills of Saskatchewan during a winter celebration. A group of six people are posing in wooden sleigh hooked up to two horses. Two white women are sitting at the back of the sleigh and two First Nations men wearing headdresses are sitting in the middle and front part of the sleigh. There is a First Nations man holding the reins of the horses sitting at the front of the sleigh. A white man wearing a fedora and winter coat is standing beside the sleigh, blocking the figure of another First Nations person sitting in the sleigh. A dog, facing the back of the sleigh, is standing in front of the man beside the sled. A young boy is standing on the opposite side of the sled near the driver. There is snow on the ground. Evergreen trees and a very large gabled house with a veranda appear in the background. Title supplied by cataloguer.
