Both clergy men were well known by their works within First Nations communities in Southern Alberta, neither was able to make it to the ceremony due to health issues. Father LaFrance (right) from the St. Mary's Girls School in Cardston accepted the portrait of Father Laverne while Harvey S. Greenway (left) president of Waterton Glacier International Peace Park Association accepted the portrait of Canon Middleton. People are moving in the background behind the portrait of Canon Middleton. A briefcase and lightening equipment can be seen on the floor underneath the portrait of Father Laverne.
