Description
Summary:August 2, 1931. Kjerulfs [Kjerulf] Fjord. Through to Dickson [Dicksons] Fjord. In left background mt. [mountain] range and glaciers on eastern side of Hisinger Glacier just around (south) from L.A.B.'s Scoop Mt. In background at center of large glacier (Hisinger [Hisinger Gletscher]) in Unknown Valley, is seen peak or high nanatak. It may be an outstanding peak of another range of mts. [mountains] which are apart from Scoop Mt. [Mountain] range. In foreground full width of large glacier (Hisinger [Hisinger Gletscher]--which has completely filled Unknown Valley) is shown at the northern end of Unknown Valley, and from here turns N.E. and ends a short distance below in Dickson [Dicksons] Fjord. See photos (panning left to right): 26-H-9; 26-H-8; 25-G-8;27-1-18; 26-H-13; 26-H-11; 27-1-20; 27-1-18; 27-1-19; 25-G-11; 25-G-12; 27-1-17. A cleft and a stream can be seen in the glacier to right (west) of peak or nanatak. Following an angle corresponding to the cleft in the glacier are ridges of sharp-pointed hummocks with crevasses between. These all run N.E by S.W. Photo taken from southern terminal of eastern range of Kjerulfs [Kjerulf] Fjord, looking in southerly direction.
