Description
Summary:After dissolution of the Soviet Union, the economical and political changes in Russia resulted into development of the new institutional arrangements and altered the behaviour of all industrial organisations. The new institutional regime and the introduction of the new market-based economic system forced fishing companies to change their business behaviour and find new ways to adjust to the existing situation. The main objective of the Thesis is to show how the higher-order institutions have influenced fishing companies and changed the trade pattern for cod and other species of white fish in the Murmansk Region. In order to illustrate this, one fishing company would be selected as a case-study and the main factors which have led to the significant change of trade pattern for cod and other species of white fish would be generalized and analyzed together with the data applied on an entire Russian North-West Fishery.
