Summary:The theme of POLAR2018, Where the Poles come together, aspired to bring together thelatest science from both poles and other cryospheric regions. Themes across the full range ofsciences and humanities, from Astrophysics and Astronomy, from Outreach andCommunications to Technology and Engineering, were explored by 2400 delegates whopresented 1600 posters and over 1000 oral papers.Combining polar and alpine researchacross the sessions provided new perspectives for everyone, but a number of unifyingthemes also emerged from an Antarctic perspective.
