Summary: | Palacios comunales atemporales presents an exciting chronological journey through visionary projects built throughout history that proposed alternative residential solutions to traditional ways of life. From the monasteries of the hermits and cenobites of the 4th century to contemporary buildings such as Ricardo Bofill's Walden 7, via Jean-Baptiste André Godin's Familisterie de Guise or Ralph Erskine's project for an ecological arctic city, the volume brings together a total of sixty "architectural experiences" which, in the author's opinion, were built as "redoubts on the fringes" of "the existential and economic structures" of their time. |
