Summary:Antarctic krill (Euphausia superba) is a keystone species in the Antarctic - as a species its presence contributes to a diversity of life and its extinction would lead to the extinction of other forms of Me. Many large predators such as baleen whales, seals, penguins and other marine birds feed either exclusively or opportunistically on the krill swarms that form annually from the months of November to January.
