| Summary: | Výběr tématu pro diplomovou práci je na 3.lékařské fakultě UK usnadněn tím, že jednotlivé kliniky, ústavy a katedry už nabízejí studentům témata více méně zavedených výzkumných programů. Mimo to samozřejmě stále existuje možnost, aby si student sám vymyslel problém, kterému se bude věnovat. Já jsem byl odhodlán vybrat si téma, které bude z oblasti psychiatrie, protože tento obor mi přijde zajímavý a vážně uvažuji, že moje zaměření po škole by se mohlo odvíjet právě tímto směrem. Výuka psychiatrie, kterou jsem absolvoval v Psychiatrickém centru Praha, ve mně zanechala velice pozitivní dojem z tohoto zařízení, jak co se týče kliniky tak i výzkumné práce, a hlavně z přístupu lékařů k pacientům i k vědě. Byl jsem proto rád, že jsem měl možnost pracovat na své diplomové práci na půdě této instituce. Souvislost dvou závažných nemocí, schizofrenie a diabetu mellitu, byla pro mne, až do doby, než jsem se začal věnovat této diplomové práci, prakticky neznámá. Během stáží na psychiatrické klinice jsem ale s překvapením pozoroval, že mnoho pacientů se schizofrenií je obézních a oni sami přiznávali, že při terapii některými léky pociťují zvýšenou chuť k jídlu. Předpokládal jsem tedy, že patogeneze tohoto problému se bude asi ubírat tímto směrem, což se zčásti i prokázalo. Uvítal jsem, že zadání diplomové práce. I was therefore glad that I had the opportunity to working on his thesis on the grounds of the institution. The association of two serious illnesses, schizophrenia and diabetes mellitus, was for me, up until I started to this thesis, virtually unknown. During internship in a psychiatric clinic, but I was surprised observed that many patients with schizophrenia are obese and they themselves admitted that the therapy of certain drugs feel increased appetite. I expected, therefore, that the pathogenesis of this problem will about moving in this direction, which is partly shown. I.
