Description
Summary:This research studies the development of the internal and external relations of an island and in particular wanting to trace the origins of the new role of insularity during the transition,in the eighties and nineties, from the industrial capitalist system to today's financial and technological system, also based,of course,on different structural elements. Starting from the study of the nodes and means of relations, therefore sea,air and road conections, but also focusing attention on the diffusion of infrastructures, telematic services and web marketing, the author identifies, through a short historical and territorial analysis of Iceland, the new elements and therefore the processes characterizing the impact of the new economy on an island.
