No more hearsay evidence to be accepted on that point.I shall speak disrespectfully of the equator too if I want to, for I went over the imaginary hair line on the water02023 [2]and saw Java. I had some compunctions down there I must confess at having so much botanically wasted on me, who doesn't know a cotyledon any too well. It was glorious though, that vegetation--the whole island cultivated from end to end like a botanical garden and that [Buitengong?] garden is the ideal one of all I saw.The Himalayas are all they are cracked up to be, too. I saw them at Darjeeling, Simla and Khyber Pass, and they were[3]giants. I was sold on Mt. Everest--for after starting in the middle of the night twice to go up to a high place and see the sun rise over it, what did I see as the biggest, highest thing on earth? A little white nub of a thing off on the sky line, just a size larger than my thumb. I'll back my Mt.
