Description
Summary:Martinez, Contra Costa Co, California Oct 31, 1881.My dear friend Gray:Parry was here the other day & brought the news that you were likely to be home by the end of this month, What a fine big eventful trip you must have had, & how many interesting plants & people & place you must have seen. I returned a week ago from the polar region about Wrangel Land & Herald Island, & brought a few plants from there which I wish you[Page 2]you would name as soon as convenient, as I have to write a report on the flora for the Expedition I had a fine [icy time?] & gathered a lot of exceedingly interesting facts concerning the formation of Behring Sea & the Arctic Ocean & the configuration of the shores of Siberia & Alaska Also concerning the forests that used to grow there, etc, which I hope someday to discuss with you. With cordial regards to Mrs Gray I am ever your friend John Muir.
