[North] side of Port Clarence.] us to ship very laboriously. She danced like a feather, so did our boat; launch propeller whirling high in air crossing every big curling swell. Difficult getting aboard, ladies and children had to climb rope ladder in lea side, boat dancing and wobbling awfully for landlubbers. Found the tundra boggy and wet of course over hill and dale. Willows 5 or 6 gone or going to seed, spiraeae not in [flower], beautiful [purple] polygonium, primula, polimonium, dark blue small gentian, blue violet, saxifrages, one of them large and showy, drabas, vacciniums, ovalifolium and cranberry relignosum, dwarf birch. One crinkled stream side willow, the only bush, looks black from bad storms.
