Near Harriman Gl[acier] Sunrise back of spiky crest The sun beams took form & sent of[f] halo rays from each peaklet thus [faint sketch across the text above to illustrate the sun rays and peaks] Saw bergs of immense size in upper portion of bay. Landed on one yesterday & paced it 700 ft dirty Looked like a gl[acier] as we rounded a corner. Saw one or two 1000 ft long (estimate) Hugh Gl[acier] overflow of Reid Inlet a few miles inside [ ] Very white & smooth. 1 m[ile] wide. Another of the same not [selling] off bergs farther up. Camped in cove well sheltered - found 2 Inds[Indians] - father & son just carrying their precious canoe up beyond tide & bergs & berg waves taking pains even after sundown on a cloudy eve https://scholarlycommons.pacific.edu/jmj-all/3621/thumbnail.jpg
