Rocks on N wall 5000 ft h yel & red & gray snow on less [turbulent] [north] [span] & [ ] [Torreza] [ ] Yosemite [calycanthus] [Sequoia] ab in Boulder basin & v [very] [ ] 4 or 5 [sq] miles forrest in small basin above the river N side can 5 ms below Yo [Yosemite] Double in fall 200ft h [44] 16 Sequoia also in small trib East most of boulder [sketch: Boulder Basin; main river] The species has evidently made its way E ward after being halted by the barrier of the [main] [canons] wh [which] is the first after leaving the south extremity of Range crossed at one small [part] opposite Mill Flat - Dinky Creek. [Thence] to Fresno etc on old ground first above the ice sheet. [These] main [canons] [enviably] filled with ice when Seq established etc on these grounds.
