Description
Summary:35To. F.C. Please return to R.U.J.Martinez January, 10, 1895My dear Mr JohnsonYours of Jan. 2 just received. Happy New Year to you your family & the Century. Both papers received the Alaska Trip & Discovery of Glacier Bay. I am at work on them & hope to have them in the shape you wish before the time you mention.I find that I have already given a description of the Muir Glacier in the Alaska Trip about 1400 words long & I'll be hanged if I see how I can avoid repeating myself in a second description in the Discovery article. I suppose it will have to be more general & shorter in the Discovery of the Bay.I'll be glad to make a book as you suggest (The Glaciers of Alaska). Also a small one on the Yosemite Valleys that will answer as a guidebook. How is the Mtns of California selling. People here complain that it is not to be found in the stores all sold they say. Keep me advised on the Caminetti Bill.Ever Your friend John MuirBancroft Library[in margin: When is the Alaska Trip to be published?] https://scholarlycommons.pacific.edu/jmcl/25224/thumbnail.jpg
