And here we are rewarded by watching the buds of shrubs and trees show the first green04985 [3]write I shall feel the more perfect sense of talking with you. Thank you so much for [illegible]. I shall hold it tenderly till you come to take me on an Amazon trip!This morning I saw Dr. Dall & Dr. Fisher who were with us in Alaska. tomorrow I shall see Dr. Merriam and before I leave Washington I shall hope to have a glimpse of all our "H. A. [P's?] who live here. How wonderful those happy cruising, mountain climbing & glacier viewing days were!I count the days now until each Atlantic Monthly appears for I so enjoy knowing of your earlier years. Every time I think of your taking your clock to be the fair I smile with amusement. Do stay in the Hooks & Garret long enough to describe all such boyish pranks and ambitions![4]I gave the Harrimans your[letterhead]messages the other day & they were pleased to have them.
