It is now in a vanishing condition, while others seem to be growing at the head about Cape Lisburne, and wasting at the base. Found beaver signs on both sides [of] the estuary, all old. The sticks they had peeled all are much decayed and seem to have been saved in their present form by having been frozen into mud. 13. Sep.
