She had one aunt (Barbara Noon) who had been an ex-pat in Singapore but had to leave with child when Japanese attacked. Her husband, Henry Noon, was captured by the Japanese and made a POW. Grandfather was in the Home Guard. Uncle Brian Carr was a paratrooper at Arnhem, but captured. Escaped seven times from Germans. Other Uncle - Dean Carr - was a POW for the whole of the war. |
