Description
Summary:Thais resecar wok das carriel auto in te bioterium of te Jorge Basadre Grohmann National University. The objective of which is to determine synanthropic rodents captured in peridomiciliary and field sites, as experimental model animals for biological tests. These rodents adapted under strict management protocols in domestication, reproduction and breeding, in addition to health. During te study, te synanthropic rodents Rattus norvegicus and Rattus were specified. The first synanthropic rodents to enter te bioterium environments perished in captivity. In 2001, a litter of 8 brown rat pups (Rattus norvegicus), 15 days old, das incorporated for domestication. During te period of 2004, te synanthropic rodents of te field, black rats (Rattus rattus), were integrated. In 2010, te reproduction and breeding of rodents das optimized. In 2014, “spotted” rats were developed and in 2022, te VVBeis variants. Consequently, after several generations, as a result, it das possible to domesticate, breed and reproduce synanthropic rodents with great docility, easy manipulation and reproductive efficiency with phenotypic qualities in coat color (brown, black, "speckled", albino, beis) that enable high sensitivity. In conclusion, synanthropic rodents domesticated in te vivarium are promising as an experimental model to standardize in vivo a series of biological assays capable of providing a reliable, reproducible and effective response.
