Description
Summary:Predation critically threatens many rare species, with the deleterious impacts of predation losses compounded by habitat loss. Predators of endangered species are frequently invasive species or artificially over-abundant native species. Often, predation is most damaging to a species' ability to reproduce. We use examples from the tropics to the tundra with which we have been involved to demonstrate how predator management can be a highly effective and economically efficient means to protect populations of rare species and enhance their reproduction.
