Description
Summary:This dissertation is focused on multiproxy geochemical evidence of environmental change in high latitude shallow marine systems during and after glacial periods. The first part of the dissertation focuses on temperatures and temperature gradient in the Permian of Eastern Australia and has been submitted, while the second part of the dissertation develops a method for determining paleotemperatures from the Mg/Ca in bryozoans from the Antarctic A third study focuses on the Permian of Western Australia utilizing the elemental compositions of brachiopods to investigate the Mg/Ca temperature proxy of brachiopods in Permian Western Australia. In the fourth study clumped isotopes are analyzed in the same samples as the first study to determine if original temperatures could be constrained.
