| Summary: | When Mother Nature's fury strikes more often than not these days, global warming could be to blame. Join Xiquan Dong, a professor with the University of North Dakota Department of Atmospheric Sciences, for a seminar that explores recent weather extremes. The seminar, titled "Regional extreme events: US SGP drought/flood and Arctic Sea-ice retreat" will take place at 3 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 6, in Streibel Hall, Room 106, on the UND campus. The seminar is free and open to the public. The public is invited to hear Dong examine hydrological extremes in the central United States in relation to highly contrasting precipitation levels.
