Description
Summary:DVD édité par CNRS Images In Europe, among the tools used by the last prehistoric hunter-gatherers, half were made of animal bone, antler and teeth. They show an extraordinary diversity of types, one of which is illustrated here: the so–called “bone adzes”, first found in the Magle Mose (Big Bog), Denmark. Descriptions of the archaeological pieces are presented with special emphasis placed on their scientific interest. Tool replicas were made using prehistoric techniques recently recognized by the author, and were used for different purposes in order to identify their function.
