Description
Summary:This article aims to answer the following concern: How mass-communication can affect the decision making process taken by an expert, while confronting a critical situation. The specific case, analyzed in this research is the case of " Iceland volcanic ash " happened in April 2010 which disrupted the European transportation system and it expanded globally. In this document we try to explain the paradox of: While the phenomenon itself is very complex with subsequent international effects, the decision to be made has to be simple, collective, and homogeneous. From there, we focus on the characteristics of decision making processes when there is excessive media coverage.
