STRES PRI ZAPOSLENIH V PODJETJU MIKRO+POLO D.O.O.

Description
Stress is an increasingly common concept. It is impossible to avoid stress, because it is has become a big part of our lives. It is often created by individuals themselves, trying to plan and control everything, and striving to achieve the best possible results with which we force ourselves to do more than we can manage. Problems arise when our expectations are not realized, and this causes even more worry due to failure. Identifying stress at an early stage and facing it is important. The acceptance that we should be living in the moment is necessary for the realization that not everything can always go according to our plans. People should listen to their own needs and connect with their inner self more, by way of various relaxation techniques. Sadly, such techniques are currently still not practiced by enough people, even though they are a good way of avoiding unnecessary stress. In this master’s thesis, the issue of workplace-stress was researched. This paper includes both the theoretical, as well as the empirical part. In the theoretical part of the paper, the general definitions of stress are stated, in addition to the types of stress, stress components, and the arising of a stress reaction. Following the examples of different authors, four models of stress are described, as well as the factors related to different types of personalities undergoing stress, symptoms of stress, signs of stress, and its consequences. Workplace-stress is also defined in this paper, along with the cost it brings to an organization and its employees. In this paper, you can find a description of the specific cost stress brings to an organization, along with possible ways to lower these costs. In the fourth chapter, we considered ways of controlling and preventing stress on two different levels, and described individual and organizational approaches to mitigating stress, which we then further divided into three levels the primary, secondary and tertiary level. In the empirical part, the Mikro+Polo d.o.o company and their activities were presented. With the help of a web questionnaire, a study on workplace-stress in this company was conducted. We analyzed the filled out questionnaires, presented the data graphically and found the factors, responsible for the biggest amount of stress, as well as the most common ways people deal with stress. In the last part, a summarization of the findings obtained by analyzing the web questionnaire was done. The last part also contains suggestions on mitigating stress in the Mikro+Polo d.o.o. company. In conclusion, the employees in the above mentioned company are not under great stress, due to the strategies for prevention of stress they use. Despite these findings, the company still has to provide ways to mitigate the stress present, as only satisfied and motivated employees will ensure a successful company.
