Description
Summary:V magistrski nalogi smo raziskovali odnos mladih do družine orientacije. In the MA thesis we examined the relationship between youth and the family of orientation. The family of orientation was analysed as a factor in development of an economical status of today’s youth and as a value with a diversified meaning (more/less important). In the theoretical part we classified the term youth from a cognitive, emotional, personal, and social development. We then carefully defined the development of youth as a social group throughout specific historical eras, as well as described the social standings of today’s youth, where we focused on the quality of life, education, and youth employment possibilites. We put special focus on the relationship between youth and the family of orientation, where we defined the term family, stressed the core family functions and changes inside the family structure, and the importance of family of orientation. In the final chapter of the theoretical part we focused on values, gave a general definition of values, and then focused especially on the changes of the value systems and the value trends of today’s youth. In the empirical part of the MA thesis we researched the importance of family of orientation for the youth in specific age grups (15–29) based on the database of Mladina 2000 and Mladina 2010 research. We wanted to analyse the importance of family of orientation as an economical factor and as a value in a specific period in life, based on the age and sex of the respondents. We researched this based on the youth’s primary income, household types (living alone, with a partner and/or with the family of orientation), and youth’s values. The findings show, both in Mladina 2000 and Mladina 2010 research, that the family of orientation is and important factor in economical status development for both the male and female population, aged between 15–29, but there is an evidend decrease in importance of the family of orientation as a factor for financial emancipation of the youth. Regardless of the period in life, sex, age, and/or the family of orientation, today’s youth finds family as an important value in one’s life.
