Description
Stress has become an everyday occurrence in both parts of our life - the private and the professional part. It could be said, that stress implicates our life and also our work quite strongly. It is unreasonable to expect to live without the stress nowadays. But fortunately, it is possible to reduce the stress, by managing it. And we can manage it completely by ourselves. Various techniques in order to reduce stress are available, such as yoga, physical activity, proper time management, healthy diet, autogenic training, meditation, massages. One is not able to affect the external environment and his surroundings, but can control his own body and mind, breathing and emotions in order to avoid the negative consequences of stress. But a low level of stress can actually even encourage and have some positive effects on an individual. Consequentially, one can become much more creative, successful and motivated to do his work. When the individual begins to break down because of the excessive physical and psychological pressures that is when the amount of stress has been too large. This depends on each individual and his personal limitations. Too much stress is mostly shown on the emotional, physical and behavioral level of the individual’s life. Stress in the workplace is a very common phenomenon and one of the major problems, so it is very important, that the company takes actions on time - measures and corrects the programs or techniques for managing stress. A survey we conducted in the selected organization, revealed, that many employees are familiar with techniques to manage stress, but not all of them actually implement these techniques. Employees are often overwhelmed with all the work and this leads to stress symptoms such as tiredness, forgetfulness, insomnia and frequent headaches. Employees believed that the organization should work on preventing stress more efficiently. Our opinion on the subject is that the organization could largely improve the situation, if it had the programs for stress management and other techniques that we ourselves proposed as solutions.
