Summary:V diplomski nalogi sem v IV. in V. poglavju na kratko predstavila zgodovino koles in kolesarstva na Slovenskem ter zakonsko ureditev. Kot sem navedla v diplomski nalogi, so pravila za kolesarje veljala že v preteklosti, ko so kolesa uporabljali le bogati meščani. Sedaj Zakon o pravilih cestnega prometa natančno določa pravila, ki jih mora kolesar, kot udeleženec cestnega prometa upoštevati. S tem kolesar prispeva k zmanjšanju števila prometnih nesreč. Bistveno vlogo pri tem ima tudi Nacionalni program varnosti cestnega prometa, v katerem so predstavljeni ukrepi za izboljšanje varnosti. Oba dva dokumenta sem natančno predstavila v V. poglavju diplomske naloge. Večjo pozornost pa sem namenila statistični obdelavi podatkov v poglavju VI. za obdobje 2002 – 2010 in ukrepom za izboljšanje varnosti kolesarjev. Rezultati so pokazali, da kolesar naredi največ prometnih nesreč zaradi nepravilne strani oz. smeri vožnje, največ je moških kolesarjev udeležencev v prometnih nesrečah, najranljivejša starostna skupina pa je od 61. leta naprej. Če gledamo, kdaj se zgodi največ prometnih nesreč, so rezultati naslednji. Med 17. in 18. uro ter v mesecu juniju in juliju. Največ nesreč se zgodi na cesti. Iz tega razloga je potrebno za varnost poskrbeti s posebnimi ukrepi. V VII. poglavju sem predstavila načrt ukrepov, ki naj bi na podlagi kritičnih statističnih podatkov izboljšali varnost kolesarjev v prihodnjih letih in dosegli cilj Nacionalnega programa varnosti v cestnem prometu 2012 - 2021. Treba je večjo pozornost nameniti vzgoji in usposabljanju, sami infrastrukturi, ukrepom policije in drugim ukrepom, ki bodo pripomogli temu. S tem upamo, da bo tudi cilj NPVCP do konca leta 2021 lahko dosežen. In this graduation thesis I briefly introduced the history of bicycles, cycling and regulation in Slovenia in chapters IV. and V. As I stated in the thesis, the rules applying to cyclists existed already in the past, when bicycles were using only wealthy people. Now, the Law of road traffic rules specifies the rules which a cyclist, as a participant in road traffic has to consider. That way the rider helps to reduce road accidents. The essential role in this also has the National road safety program, where measures to improve safety are introduced. I have accurately presented both of these two documents in chapter V. of the graduation thesis. I dedicated greater attention to the statistical treatment of data in chapter VI. for the period 2002 - 2010 and also to the step to improve safety of cyclists. The results showed that the rider makes the most road accidents because of improper side or. direction of driving, male cyclists mostly participate in road accidents, the most vulnerable age group is from the 61st year on. If we take a look at when most accidents occur, the results are as follows. Between 17 and 18 hour, and in months June and July. Accidents mostly happen on the road. For this reason it is necessary to provide special security measures for safety. In chapter VII. I presented a plan of actions, which based on critical statistic data should improve safety for cyclists in the coming years and achieve the goal of the National road safety program 2012-2021. There should be greater emphasis intended to education and training, to infrastructure itself, to police measures and other measures that will contribute to this. Within this we hope that also NPVCP-s goal can be achieved by the end of 2021.
