Description
Summary:Diplomsko delo obravnava stres med osnovnošolskimi učitelji. Opisane so vrste in povzročitelji stresa (stresorji), nato so predstavljeni simptomi stresa in njegove posledice. The diploma thesis deals with stress among primary teachers. In the first part of the thesis the precise definition of what stress is and how it takes place is written. Different types and causes of stress (stressors) are described. After that the symptoms of stress and its consequences are presented. Much attention is paid to measures hove to avoid stress. In the following section a more detailed description of stress among teachers is described. The nature of teachers' work is such, that the profession is particularly strongly exposed to stress. What are causes and consequences of stress that mostly affect teachers are accurately described and also what teachers can do, so they can cope with stress more easily and that the consequences are less severe. The survey was conducted on a sample of 150 elementary school teachers in northeastern Slovenia. I was trying to find out, whether teachers think of their work as stressful, what causes them stress, what consequences they feel of it and what they do to prevent and manage stress. The collected results were accurately processed and the findings thoroughly described. Being a teacher is a mission not just a profession. The teacher should be a source of knowledge, a consultant, a person who offers guidance, a good example, he must be able to listen, understand, tolerate and stand by one side, and he must orientate himself and take pleasure. And if during all this he can also successfully manage stress, than his mission is fulfilled.
