Summary:Diplomska naloga opisuje uporabo simulacij v prometni tehniki. Opisana so področja uporabe, delitev simulacij na mikroskopske, makroskopske in mezoskopske modele, diplomska naloga je predvsem osredotočena na mikroskopski koncept simuliranja prometa. Na kratko je predstavljenih pet najbolj razširjenih programskih paketov za izvajanje prometnih simulacij, to so AIMSUN, DRACULA, Paramics, SISTM in VISSIM. V sami diplomski nalogi je še prikazana praktična uporaba mikroskopskega simulacijskega programskega paketa PTV VISSIM, s pomočjo tega programskega paketa je bil izdelan model prometnega omrežja centra mesta Lenart ter izvedba alternativne rešitve, umestitve krožnega krožišča v omrežje. Uporaba simulacij je pomembna pri modeliranju prometa. S svojim širokim spektrom aplikacij omogočajo zelo natančno simuliranje različnih tipov prometnih omrežij iz realnega okolja. Na podlagi računskih rezultatov in vizualne animacije gibanja prometnih tokov po omrežju omogočajo reševanje prometnih problemov ter implementacijo različnih rešitev v modele prometnih omrežij, še preden so te rešitve vpeljane v realno okolje. Dissertation describes the use of simulations in traffic engineering. There are mainly described the fields of use, classification of simulations into microscopic, macroscopic and mesoscopic models, mainly it is focused to the microscopic concept of simulating the traffic flow dynamics. There are also five main traffic simulation software packages briefly presented, these are AIMSUN, DRACULA, Paramics, SISTM and VISSIM. In the dissertation a practical use of microscopic traffic simulation package PTV VISSIM is also presented. With the use of this package a traffic network model of the centre of town Lenart has been build and implementation of alternative solution has been done, particularly a placement of circular roundabout into the network. Use of simulations is highly important for traffic modeling. With its wide range of applications a very accurate simulation of different types of traffic networks from the real environment is provided. On the basis of computational results and visual animation of traffic flow movement through the network, traffic problems can be resolved and different solutions can be implemented into the traffic network models before these solutions are introduced in the real environment.
