Summary:Diplomsko delo z naslovom Proučevanje profesionalnega razvoja vzgojiteljev predšolskih otrok z metodo poklicne avtobiografije v teoretičnem delu obravnava profil vzgojitelja predšolskih otrok ter dejavnike, ki vplivajo na profesionalni razvoj vzgojiteljev predšolskih otrok med formalnim izobraževanjem, in tiste, ki vplivajo nanj po formalnem izobraževanju. Namen empiričnega dela v diplomski nalogi je bil ugotoviti, kateri so tisti dejavniki, ki jih vzgojitelji predšolskih otrok sami izpostavljajo kot pomembne za njihov profesionalni razvoj, kakšen je njihov pogled na položaj vzgojitelja predšolskih otrok danes, kakšen je njihov pogled nase kot na vzgojitelja predšolskih otrok ter kako se v tej vlogi vidijo v prihodnosti. Pri raziskovanju je bila uporabljena metoda poklicne avtobiografije. V raziskavi so sodelovale vzgojiteljice predšolskih otrok z različnim številom let delovnih izkušenj. Ugotovitve so predstavljene v obliki citatov. Ugotovili smo, da se večina vzgojiteljic za ta poklic odloča zaradi želje po delu z otroki. Pri nekaterih se ta želja začne razvijati že v otroštvu. V času študija jih izzivajo nova spoznanja stroke. Veliko praktičnega znanja pridobijo v času pripravništva. Poudarjena je vloga dobrega mentorja. Pomemben dejavnik, ki vpliva na profesionalni razvoj vzgojiteljev, je tudi timsko delo, ki zahteva sodelovanje in usmerjenost k uresničevanju skupnih ciljev. Poudarjen je pomen stalnega strokovnega izpopolnjevanja. Uspešnost vzgojiteljevega dela v prihodnosti zaznamujejo stalna strokovna izpopolnjevanja na njegovih šibkih in močnih področjih. SUMMARY The theoretical part of my diploma paper titled Examining the Professional Development of Pre-school Teachers with the Method of Professional Autobiography is addressing the profile of a pre-school teacher and the factors affecting the professional development of pre-school teachers during their formal education, as well as the factors affecting the professional development of pre-school teachers after acquiring formal education. The goal of the empirical part of the diploma paper is to determine which factors the pre-school teachers would point out as the factors that affect their professional development, their views on the position of pre-school teachers today, their retro-reflecting views as pre-school teachers, and their position in the role of pre-school teachers in the future. In my research, I used the Method of Professional Autobiography. My research-based information was collected from pre-school teachers with different work experience. The conclusions are presented in form of quotations. It was concluded that the majority of pre-school teachers choose this profession because they love to work with children. Some have had this wish since their childhood. During their studies, they are intrigued by new knowledge the profession can offer. They acquire a lot of practical knowledge during their traineeship. The importance of a good mentor was also pointed out. An important factor that affects the professional development of pre-school teachers is also team work which requires good cooperation and orientation towards common goals. The importance of continuous professional training was underlined as well. The success of a pre-school teacher’s future work is based on on-going professional education within their weak and strong points.
