Summary:DIP.SOC.STUD. The costs of poor levels of occupational health and safety (OHS) should be a serious concern to business and all efforts should be made to ensure that if and when an emergency occurs, the impact of such an emergency is minimised. This study evaluates the implementation of emergency, prevention, preparedness and response arrangements in 4 and 5 star hotels in Malta in accordance with recognised OHS Management Systems and compares the measures being implemented by these hotels with national applicable OIIS regulations. This study also reviews the national OHS regulations in respect of these emergency arrangements to identify any consistencies or deviations from recognised OHS management system. This study also compares the requirements of the three main Government entities responsible for emergency, prevention, preparedness and response arrangements in hotels in Malta. A number of recommendations are also being presented. N/A
