Summary:Spain acceded to the Antarctic Treaty in 1982, thereby accepting the commitment to respect and comply with the regulations derived from it, through periodic meetings with consultative rank countries (Spain acquired this status in 1988). España se adhirió al Tratado Antártico en 1982, aceptando de esta forma el compromiso de respetar y cumplir las normativas que de él derivaran, por medio de las reuniones periódicas con los países de rango consultivo (España adquirió este carácter en 1988).
