| Summary: | The present work aims to analyze the (possible) impacts of the constitution of the Aukus deal on the Falklands, Antarctica and South Atlantic System (SMAAS). In order to do that, this study has been divided into two major parts. In the first, Aukus (2021) is presented, and the British presence in the modern world system is addressed. Next, the possible implications of Aukus for SMAAS geographical setting are exposed. It is hypothesized that, at the same time that Aukus is a strategy to contain Chinese action in the Indo-Pacific, it also evidences the strengthening of the British action in SMAAS, thus representing developments in the Anglo-South American conflict. To carry out this study, a literature review of authors in the area of Political Geography and reading of official documents were used. RESUMEN El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo analizar los (posibles) impactos de la constitución del Acuerdo de Aukus para el Sistema de Malvinas, Antártida y Atlántico Sur (SMAAS). Por lo tanto, el trabajo se divide en dos grandes partes. En la primera, se presenta Aukus (2021) y se aborda la presencia británica en el sistema mundial moderno. A continuación, se exponen las posibles implicaciones de Aukus para el conjunto geográfico de SMAAS. Se plantea la hipótesis de que, al mismo tiempo que Aukus es una estrategia de contención para la acción china en el Indo-Pacífico, también representa un fortalecimiento de la acción británica en el SMAAS, representando desdoblamientos en el conflicto anglo-sudamericano. Para desarrollar este trabajo se utilizó la revisión bibliográfica de autores del área de Geografía Política y la lectura de documentos oficiales.
