| Summary: | El objetivo del trabajo es establecer si existe relación entre perturbaciones del campo magnético registradas en el Polo Sur y la corriente anillo ecuatorial. La presencia de variaciones positivas y negativas en la componente vertical señala los efectos de corrientes hacia el este o el oeste, respectivamente, a latitudes menores que las del observatorio. Las primeras, más numerosas, muestran la influencia de corrientes ionosféricas aurórales. Las segundas podrían corresponder al fenómeno buscado. The purpose of this analysis is the search for a possible relationship between the equatorial ring current and the disturbances of the geomagnetic field at the South Pole. Positive and negative deviations of the Z-component are on record, indicating currents towards the East and West, respectively, at subpolar latitudes. The former, which are more frequent, can be interpreted as the effect of ionospheric auroral currents, while the latter could be caused by the ring current effect here searched for.
