Description
Summary:This essay has it’s outset in the painting Indigenous love by Anders Sunna, to further investigate how the postcolonial structures are expressed and in which way power and resistance manifests in the artwork. It also examines how the artistic expression takes form and what kinds of themes that are expressed in Sunnas artwork. This study includes a Reception Aesthetic method and theory based on Wolfgang Kemps work and it also relies on Louis Althussers theories about ideology and the ideological state apparatus. It discusses the artwork’s internal elements’ interactions with each other and the interaction with its beholder. Likewise; it explores the power in the artwork through its artistic expression, motif and composition. Ultimately, the studie hope to serve as an opening for further research on the subject.
