The paper presents Appendix 6 to the Historical background of the Russian literature by Nikolay Gretsch, translated and edited by Samuel Bogumił Linde (Warsaw, 1823). The appendix contains Pyotr Vyazemsky’s article On Derzhavin, written after the poet’s death in 1816. Vyazemsky highly values Derzhavin’s literary works and compares him to Mikhail Lomonosov, Vasily Petrov and Horace. The article was published in Gretsch’s Scientific book of the Russian literature (Saint-Petersburg, vol. 1, 1819). The paper presents the place of Vyazemsky’s work in the structure of the Polish edition of the Historical background of the Russian literature (notes, chapters dedicated to Derzhavin, Lomonosov and Petrov). The interpretive context is the correspondence of Linde and Vasily Anastasyevitch, as well as of Nikolay Karamzin and Ivan Dmitriev. Artykuł zawiera omówienie aneksu VI do Rysu historycznego literatury rosyjskiej Nikołaja Grecza, wydanego w przekładzie i opracowaniu Samuela Bogumiła Lindego (Warszawa, 1823). Aneks obejmuje artykuł Piotra Wiaziemskiego O Dierżawinie, napisany po śmierci poety w 1816 roku. Wiaziemski wysoko ocenia dzieła literackie Dierżawina i porównuje go z Michaiłem Łomonosowem, Wasilijem Pietrowem oraz Horacym. Tekst artykułu został opublikowany w Naukowej księdze literatury rosyjskiej Grecza (Sankt-Petersburg, t. 1, 1819). Zawiera opis miejsca pracy Wiazemskiego w strukturze polskiego wydania Rysu historycznego literatury rosyjskiej (przypisy, rozdziały o Dierżawinie, Łomonosowie i Pietrowie). Kontekst interpretacyjny stanowi korespondencja Lindego z Wasilijem Anastasewiczem oraz Nikołaja Karamzina z Iwanem Dmitrijewem.
