Description
Summary:Any deliberate of waste dumping in the ocean started on 1940 until 1970. The result of International Arctic Sea Assassment Project (IASAP) was open up many fields of research regarding the disposal of radioactive in the sea, for example are analysis of disposal site safety that removes a holding capacity of mortar strontium waste, and hydrostatic pressure. The hydrostatic pressure is changed and influenced by depth of sea. The source of physical pressure phenomena come from marine life, sea-state, man-made creation and activity, and mortars accumulation. The study was conducted using literature research methods and using secondary data from existing research report. The sample on this study was mortar strontium waste that has form solid cylinder, volume 0.1661 m3, mass 255.6 kg, specific activity 2x1010 Bq.kg-1, and mechanical compressive strength 32.069-41.232 MPa. Maximum depth reached in 4,094 meters is The Banda Sea. There are 9 sources of physical phenomena than have been studied, namely: (1) marines life swimming habit, (2) dead body of predator on pelagic, (3) dead body of predator on benthic, (4) celestial and aircraft fall-out, (5) fishing activity, (6) deep-sea drilling activity, (7) ship traffic activity, (8) samples accumulation, (9) Banda Seas state. The result showed that 7 sources of physical phenomena have potency to remove a holding capacity of mortar strontium waste. The probability of occurrence of source on source 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 are unknown because a natural presence (1st, 2nd, and 3rd source) and limited information that can be accessed (4th, and 6th sourcce). The greatest probability of occurrence is found on ship traffic activity by 0.014.
