Description
Summary:Oceanographic conditions is affected to fishery production in southern ocean of Java, especially at Central Java and Yogyakarta. MODIS image is the one of remote sensing imagery that can be used to identify condition of oceanography such as sea surface temperature (SPL) and chlorophyll concentration. This research aims to examine the distribution of sea surface temperature (SST) and chlorophyll at three seasons (west monsoon, east monsoon and transition periods), to determine the relationship of SST and chlorophyll, and to examine the influence of SST and chlorophyll to the production of pelagic fish. The research methods used to obtain the SST and chlorophyll with MODIS image was SeaDas software, which applied Miami Pathfinder algorithms for SST and Carder algorithms for chlorophyll. The relationship between SST and chlorophyll was determined by identifyng statistical correlation, whereas the relationship between SST and chlorophyll and pelagic fish production was determined using chart portraying approach. The results show that during west season, SST ranges from 28-31°C and the chlorophyll from 0.07-0.3mg/m3
