Sea chart of the Atlantic and eastern part of the United States extending from Newfoundland and the English Channel in the north to the equator in the south including the northern South America and the Caribbean Islands to the coasts of Africa and Europe. Majority of the Great Lakes are shown. Some of the unusual features of the map include an exaggerated Long Island (Long I. ou Jork Shire) and a large lake in South Carolina (Apalache Lac). Title in oval cartouche divided by horizontal lines overlaying the western portion of Africa. Includes four compass roses and rhumb lines centered. Longitude axis in the center of map. "Met previlegie voor 15 jaere"--Imprint. Scale from Koeman reference. Geographic coordinates converted to Greenwich. According to C. Koeman, The Sea on Paper, Luggert Anse engraved the chart.--(cf. page 41).
