| Summary: | O Estágio Supervisionado Obrigatório (ESO) tem como objetivo fazer o aluno pôr em prática todo conhecimento teórico e aquilo que foi visto em sala de aula, fornecendo assim uma experiência prévia antes de o aluno começar a exercer a profissão. Com isto, objetivou-se neste trabalho relatar um caso que foi acompanhado na rotina da Clínica Médica de Pequenos Animais no Hospital Veterinário Dix-Huit Rosado Maia da Universade Federal Rural do Semi-Árido, de um cão, macho, da raça Rottweiler de seis meses de idade, pesando 21kg. O animal apresentava um histórico de claudicação e dor em membros pélvicos, além de também mostrar dificuldades ao levantar-se. Com a ajuda de exames radiográficos chegou-se ao diagnóstico de osteodistrofia hipertrófica. Como tratamento foi utilizada uma associação de gabapentina por via oral durante 20 dia e cloridrato de tramadol por via oral durante 7 dias. Após o tratamento o cão apresentou melhora clínica e foram feitas novas radiografias que comprovaram uma remissão muito considerável e espontânea da doença. The Mandatory Supervised Internship (ESO) aims to make the student put into practice all the theoretical knowledge and what was seen in the classroom, thus providing a previous experience before the student begins to exercise the profession. With this, it was aimed in this work to report a case that was followed in the routine of the Medical Clinic of Small Animals in the Veterinary Hospital Dix-Huit Rosado Maia of the Federal Rural University of the Semi-Arid, of a dog, male, of the breed Rottweiler of six months of age, weighing 21kg. The animal presented a history of claudication and pain in the pelvic limbs, besides also showing difficulties when standing up. With the help of radiographic exams, the diagnosis of hypertrophic osteodystrophy was reached. As treatment it was used an association of gabapentin by oral route during 20 days and tramadol hydrochloride by oral route during 7 days.
