| Summary: | The advancement of agricultural and urban areas of many municipalities on areas known as microbasins has caused many negative impacts, affecting not only the natural resources such as land and water bodies and permanent preservation areas, but also the resident population in this perimeter. This work had as objective to analyze the changes in land use and coverage of the Ribeirão São Domingos microbasin, located in the municipality of Santa Cruz do Rio Pardo-SP in a period of 25 years, between 1987 and 2012. Analyzing the different eras, identified land use transformations and the degree of impact caused by anthropogenic action on natural resources, including the use of Gis and GIS as a tool for environmental analysis, especially with the use of modulus Land Change Modeler (LCM) present in GIS Idrisi Taiga, comparing satellite images from 1987 (Landsat 5) and 2012 (Resourcesat 1). It was also observed a reduction of forest vegetation from 230.5 ha to 178.07 ha, a significant increase in urban area from 330.56 ha to 827.6 ha, in addition to the reduction of the total area of the 394.24 ha of APPs to 383.25 ha, leading in numerous environmental problems for the municipality, such as flooding, siltation and land degradation in the region O avanço das áreas agrícolas e urbanas de muitos municípios sobre as áreas conhecidas como microbacias tem provocado inúmeros impactos negativos, afetando não apenas os recursos naturais, como a terra e os corpos d'água e áreas de preservação permanente, mas a população residente neste perímetro.
