| Summary: | Analyzed the current status of whale watching in the parish Puerto Cayo, was chosen as the theme "OBSERVATION OF HUMPBACK WHALES (MEGAPTERA NOVAEANGLIAE) AND ITS IMPACT TOURISM ACTIVITIES WITHIN THE PARISH OF CANTON JIPIJAPA." Developed the research objectives and hypotheses raised same as found, served as a guide to address issues such as tourism and recreation demand for whale watching (profile, motivation, etc.), Quality of service and experience visitors for whale watching, visitor satisfaction and coastal observation makes an approximation of the number of visitors to the area. The population of the sample design was in the case of this research the number of tourists visiting Puerto Cayo Parish season of humpback whales 2010. We used the hermeneutical, analytical, synthetic and descriptive statistics. The collection of information concerns service quality, demand, tourist profile and visitor experience in the season of humpback whale watching season 2011 was performed by the design of surveys, direct observation and unstructured interviews to tourists and Tourist Server fishermen especially dedicated to the transportation of tourists in the fishing cove Puerto Cayo. The results indicated that tourist satisfaction according to their profile remains at acceptable rates, although it follows that the service for foreign tourists is not attractive, because in the results did not register in the care of these fishing cove but if there is an influx in places like Puerto López Canton. With the results, the proposal was raised technical training services for the tourist activity whale captured in the logical framework, work schedule and budget.
