Description
Summary:National audience The behavior of rock discontinuities is a major challenge for scientists and experts who want to know the mechanisms of alteration of rock massifs, both in the triggering of landslides in the evolution of the cliffs. This research takes into account the geomorphological context related to the slopes and discontinuities of rock subjected to weather conditions. The parameters involved have a strong influence on the instability of the blocks and their breakup. Increased precipitation and altitude change of permafrost areas so the effects of climate change accepted by the majority of the scientific community, may significantly alter the appearance of these phenomena of rock falls. We know that water plays a major role in the alteration of the rock through the cracks. The purpose of this study is to characterize the influence of water movement inside the discontinuity but also in the rock matrix. This paper is devoted to the experimental study of the effects of chemical degradation on the mechanical behavior of more or less porous limestone. Two accelerated dissolution experiments in laboratory, static and dynamic, are conducted to determine the context of physical and chemical reactions involved in this phenomenon that we will link to the mechanical aspect of the massif.
