Summary:This study is a descriptive survey model that aims to analyze the social intelligence abilities of individuals belonging to the Z generation. In addition, within the scope of the study, it was also examined whether the social intelligence levels of university students belonging to the z generation differ significantly according to gender and the department of the faculty they are studying. The universe of the study consists of students (generation Z) born after 2000, studying in the fields of Social Sciences and Science at Ege University. The sample of the study consists of 412 students, 193 female and 219 male, randomly selected from this universe, 190 from social sciences and 222 from science. In the study, the Tromso Social Intelligence Scale was used as a data collection tool to measure social intelligence. The data obtained as a result of the application of the scale were analyzed in the SPSS 20 program. As a result of the analyzes, it was determined that the participants got an mean of 22.91 points from the social awareness factor of the Tromso Social Intelligence Scale, 28.57 points from the social information process factor and 21.09 points from the social skills factor. The mean of the participants' total Tromso Social Intelligence Scale scores was 72.57. When the mean score obtained is compared with other studies in the literature, it has been stated that the social intelligence level of the Z generation and the social intelligence level of the Y generation are at a similar level. In addition, it was determined that the social intelligence level of the participants differed significantly according to gender and the social intelligence level of women was significantly higher than the level of social intelligence of men.
