Description
Summary:Determining the final political status of Jerusalem is instrumental in achieving lasting Middle East peace. This project analyzes future governance in Jerusalem and the role it will play in the progression of the peace process. Further, it examines the history of Jerusalem since ancient times, the Arab-Israeli conflict, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and peace negotiations over the years that have impacted the region. An analysis of potential solutions for governance in Jerusalem is also included, along with case study comparisons of Jerusalem to Belfast and Antarctica. The paper concludes with suggestions for future governance options in Jerusalem that can address the city's final status, highlighting the possibility of internationalizing portions of Jerusalem's governance.
