Description
Summary:There are many reproductive pathologies that can affect the female dogs; however same of them remain unnoticed by the owner, and manifest themselves at the moment of performing an ovariohysterectomy. The objective of this investigation project is based on determining which of the different reproductive system pathologies were more frequent in bitches (Canis lupus familiaris) that have undergone OHE in the Municipal GAD of canton Durán, in between October – 2018 and January 2019. The study that was carried was non experimental but rather observational, in female dogs at different breeds and ages, having as a result that most pathologies were presented by bitches over 2 years of age, that haven´t been spayed, which presented pyometra (31 %), endometritis (23 %), HEQ (15 %), for ovaric cystic (15 %), dystocia (12 %), ovaric tumor (3 %) and ovarian remanent syndrome (1 %). The conclusion was that all of the previously mentioned variables have a significant influence on the founded pathologies according to Fisher's test and an early sterilization of companion animals was recommended.
