Summary: | The Leap Year Group is located within the Bowers terrane, in northern Victoria Land, East Antarctica and comprises quartz‐rich rocks of the Camp Ridge Quartzite and Reilly Conglomerate. Seven samples were analysed, six from the Camp Ridge Quartzite and one from the Reilly Conglomerate, for provenance analysis. SEM‐CL images were compared to thin section investigations and point count data, and suggest the likely source of the sediments within the Leap Year Group originate from a metamorphic terrane. It is therefore probable that the source of these rocks is the metsediment – rich Wilson terrane. |
